5 WAYS TO GET YOUR CAR'S OLD SHINE BACK

The adage of don’t judge a book by its cover may be wise but does not necessarily apply when it comes to your car. In the auto world, the exterior certainly matters as much as the interior. Not only it shows who you are as the owner, the shiny and smooth curves of your four-wheel will at least retain its value in case it needs to be put out in the market.

However, we also know that a car can look dull over time. Sometimes, it may be because car owners pay more attention to the details under the hood. Let’s change that and look at several ways you can do to make your car appears as good as new inside and out.

1. Regularly wash your car, the right way

It goes without saying that regular car-washing is important, but so does technique. Start by rinse evenly throughout the car’s surface and make sure you use special car soaps and shampoos with pH level close to 7.

Also, wash your car under the shade. Otherwise, the soap and shampoo will dry out before the car is rinsed, leaving spots on your car.

2. Polish and wax

It is recommended to complement car wash with polishing and waxing. Car polish combats the dullness, while wax protects body paint.

If you’re doing this at home, remember to apply polish and wax with circular motions and use a special sponge.

3. Avoid direct sunlight

Now that your car has regained its shine, do not let it sit under the sun as the heat will only make dullness returns. Find somewhere shady to park your car where direct sunlight can’t reach it.

4. Cover your car

For best result, cover your car when parked, including inside your own garage. Car covers provide protection against dust and dirt that may make their way anyway to the car’s body.

5. Always wash after the rain and do not cover when wet

After your car gets rained on, wash it immediately. Not just to prevent water spots, but more importantly to remove acid and dirt brought by the rain, which may damage your car’s exterior.
